Athletics Catcher: Jon Gale

Jon hit .526 this period while leading all hitters in hits (10), RBI (11) and tied in XBH’s (4).​

Rockies Outfielder: Austin Russell

Austin had 9 hits and 5 stolen bases in just 5 games over this stretch with a .700 OBP.​

Giants Catcher: Nick Seginowich

Nick had 2 Homeruns and 9 hits in just 5 games played. He also reached base 15 of 20 plate appearances leading the way with a .750 OBP

Top Pitcher:

Rockies Pitcher: ADdam Cessford

Adam threw 3 of the Rockies 6 games and had 3 complete game wins including a 1 hit shutout against the second place Athletics. He had 16 K’s in 21 IP, with a 1.33 ERA and 1.14 WHIP.

We would like to give Honourable mentions to: Utilityman Russ Taylor, Outfielder Even Turner, Infielder Lance Burrows and Pitcher Martin Eckard.

The next set of stars will be named for the next 6 games and then another group of stars will be recognized for the final 6 games of the season. These stars will be rewarded with some Mavericks swag and this round is sponsored by: Campbell Strength & Conditioning.

Rockies Catcher: Connor Moughtin

Connors is batting .478 with 5 doubles and a league leading 14 RBI in just 8 games played.

Jays Outfielder: Sean Cowland

Sean is batting .400 and leads the league with 6 XBHs, 2 HRs & a .800 Slug% in just 7 games played.

Athletics Utilityman: Jeremy Campbell

Jeremy leads the league in AVG (.538), Hits (14) & SBs (5) in just 7 games played.

Top Pitcher:

Athletics Pitcher: Connor Russell

Russell’s stat line: 2-0, 1.08 ERA, 0.92 WHIP, 17 Ks in 13 IPs with an astonishing 17.00 K/BB ratio.

We would like to give Honourable mentions to: Utilityman Russ Taylor, Pitcher Adam Cessford and Pitcher Cole Russell.

Our league this past weekend finished a project that we had been planning for almost a year. To add safety to our dugouts and also expand them to give our players more watch the game from. The fence in front of the dugouts will hopefully soon be accompained by benches right behind them as well! A thanks to the players in the league that helped out on this prokect: Jared Lehive, Mike Kittleson, Matt Kittleson, Jer Campbell & Josh Campbell. Another huge thank-you to George & Jeanie Fuller for their contributions to this project. George unfortunately passed away this past Winter, and he had told his wife Jeanie that he would like to donate some funds to our league. After talking to his family and close friends we decided that contributions should go towards something that we can remember George by.

Thanks again to the Fullers and everyone that helped!

After the conclusion of the leagues first meeting the board has approved that the "Rockies" will be the newest team in league for 2018! This Rockies team last season was known as the "Marlins" and were the champions of the South Island Baseball League (SIBL) last season . Victoria Mavericks Baseball Association is beyond excited to welcome a sixth team to the league and we hope the fans are too! See ya soon baseball fans.

Thanks to help and volunteers of Home Depot, the Victoria Mavericks will be enjoying dugout renovations for decades to come! The Home Depot provided a support team to upgrade the benches and stairs in the players dugout. They also decided to give it a new look with a fresh paint job of the league colours! The stands and score shack also got matching colours as well.

The Victoria Mavericks are excited to announce their newest team for the 2017 season! Head Coach Chris Fougner and the rest of the "Giants" players will be making their Mavericks debut on May 9 against the Bandits.
